Utility Scale Solar Power Project was held

24.02.2016 Presentation on preparation of Utility Scale Solar Power Project was held in the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources by the  Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund On February 23. Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural  Resources Hayk Harutyunyan, director of Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund Tamara Babayan, representatives of state institutions, international organizations and projects, public and financial organizations,  and other stakeholders took part at the discussion.  Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan welcomed guests and introduced the  Utility-scale Solar Power project, in particular, presented the participants,  that  40-50MVt installed capacity solar PV power stations should   be built by  the private sector under the SREP program, spoke about the  development prospects, as well as the project financing  opportunities.  R2E2 Fund expert Armen Gabrielyan introduced the project, specified conditions   necessary for the construction of solar stations, main project preparation procedures, and evaluation of solar resource potential assessment, procurement and installation of solar radiation measuring stations. R2E2 Fund director  Tamara Babayan talked about the need to  form a working group and the topics be discussed within the working group, in particular site selection for the construction of solar power plants and measuring stations,  environmental and social, technical and technological problems, training and capacity building issues.
