A four-day Workshop entitled “Industrial Energy Audit Analysis for Bankable Projects” within the framework of the EU Funded “INOGATE Technical Secretariat” Project will be held in Yerevan on 24-27 February, 2015.
The overall objective of this workshop is to improve access to finance for Sustainable Energy (SE) projects through capacity building and improved secondary legislation related to ESCOs in Armenia. Aiming to increase the capacity of local engineers and managers, the Certified Energy Audit and Sustainable Energy International experts will train specialists selected by the Association of ESCOs in using tools and methodologies to improve preparation of their project pipeline, as well as in optimisation of energy conservation measures, risk management and realistic analysis of SE projects through life cycle cost analysis.
ITS expert team will teach the crucial parts of the process of how to prepare investment project fiches that can be submitted for financing and equip local engineers with adequate tools and methodologies to assess the financial and economic viability of SE projects on the base of best International practice. The ITS team will help participants to analyse both hypothetical energy conservation measures and their actual projects.
The ITS experts will present with specific examples of Energy Saving measures the methodology of projects’ profitability calculations, as well as approaches to the assessment and attractiveness to bank financing. Special attention will be paid to the review and approval of the project by the bank and to the lending procedures.
The participants will be provided an opportunity to develop a short project themselves, using specific example, to determine / calculate the profitability and present it to the rest of the participants and to the ITS experts.
