The first floating solar plant development project launched in Armenia jointly with the Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund and French company TRANSENERGIE.

PJN-Consulting company ecologist Philippe Jean arrived in Armenia to get acquainted with the project-related activities. Within the visit framework, a meeting was held with the Director of the “Center for Environmental Impact Assessment” SNCO and the Head of Nature Protection Department of Yerevan Municipality to discuss the water basins’ environmental problems, legislative regulation, and other issues. During the site visits, the experts assessed the three selected basins with the Fund’s specialists for the construction and further operation of the floating solar plant.

It is expected to study the existing reservoirs in Armenia and conduct the reservoirs’ technical and financial feasibility to construct and operate floating solar plants in the project framework. Based on the studies’ outcomes, a pilot floating solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of about 150 kW will be built in Armenia. more
