Specialists of the Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund had a meeting with the representatives of the Green Climate Fund on April 3, 2019. The R2E2 fund director Karen Asatryan introduced the activities of the Fund, implemented projects and perspectives. Issues relating to the accreditation process and planned programs were discussed at the meeting.
At present, R2E2 Fund is in the process of accreditation to the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The Fund has overcome the first stage of accreditation and there are all the opportunities that the Fund will overcome the second stage as well. The membership of such an organization will allow the Fund to participate in major investment programs.
The accreditation process will be completed by the end of 2019.
Green Climate Fund was set up by the 194 countries who are parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate change (UNFCCC) in 2010. GCF helps developing countries reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.
