An opening ceremony of the first solar photovoltaic power plant in Azatan community of Shirak province

The first solar photovoltaic power plant opening ceremony took place in Azatan village of Shirak province.
The project for installation of Solar Photovoltaic Power System in Azatan village was implemented by Eurasia Charity Public Organization with the support of the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Armenia within the framework of Grant Assistance for Grasstoots Human Security Projects.
Solar pv power plant will generate 100,000KW/h electricity and will reduce more than 30,000 kg carbon dioxide emissions per year, improving ecological situation in the region and the adjacent settlements and socio-economic condition of the residents of Azatan village.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Joon Yamada, Chairman of the Eurasia charitable organization Nver Torosyan, Head of Azatan community Vardan Ikililyan, Governor of Shirak region Tigran Petrosyan, Director of Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund Karen Asatryan and other officials took part in the ceremony.
