Scaling-up Energy Efficiency Project of non-gasificated Communities launched in Armenia

Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund Director Armen Melkikyan and “Global Credit” UCO CJSC Director Louisa Igraryan signed a contract on the Scaling-up Energy Efficiency project in non-gasificated communities of Armenia, aimed at increasing energy efficiency level in about 280 communities of Armenia through financial organizations and financing investments in clean energy development sector.

About 37 thousand households, which are not included in the gasification projects, are not gasificated in Armenia, because of their economic inefficiency. In order to improve the living conditions of the population in communities, a working group headed by the  Minister of Energy Infrastructures  and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan was formed by the Decision of the Prime Minister of the RA  Karen Karapetyan, with the participation of representatives from different agencies, and Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund. Targeted measures aimed at solving the problem have been developed for non-gasificated communities, based on which the signed contract will be implemented.
