A Conference on “green” energy was held in Belgium

Director of the Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund Armen Melkikyan took part at the Conference held in Belgium on June 29-30 of this year. Representatives of the Eastern Partnership countries, international organizations, donor countries, experts from commercial banks and representatives of international financial institutions took part at the Conference.
The purpose of the Conference was to identify new mechanisms for alternative energy funding, present activities implemented in the sector, discuss further improvements, and expand “green” job retaining projects.
Joint meetings were held with the representatives of the European Commission and the Climate Investment Fund, within the framework of the event, where R2E2 Fund director Armen Melkikyan, introduced renewable energy developments in Armenia, particularly energy efficiency activities carried out in the sector and forthcoming projects, which aroused great interest and an agreement was reached for further cooperation.
