On “BSBEEP-Black Sea Buildings Energy Efficiency Plan” with in the Joint Operational Programme “Black Sea Basin 2007-2013”
Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism, General Directorate for Territorial Cooperation of Romania suggested implementing Joint Operational Programme “Black Sea Basin 2007-2013”. It includes participants from several states Greece, Romania, Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey. The overall objective is to contribute to stronger regional partnerships and cooperation schemes in BS area through the reinforcement of administrative capacity of local authorities and bodies. The project aims to strengthen the administrative capacity of local authorities in a very crucial sector (energy efficiency in buildings) having major environmental and economic impacts locally and globally.
The project aims to improve energy efficiency systems in buildings, as well as exchange of knowledge and experience in energy sector. Internal and external analysis of energy system current state will be implemented under the project. The project includes government agencies, universities, research centers and NGOs, promoting buildings energy efficiency in local and regional level. Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund and the American University of Armenia submitted a joint proposal to participate in the project. The total cost of the project is about EUR 55953.9 euros, from which grant funds make 50358.51 euros, Fund co-financing is about 5.595.39 euros.

BSBEEP 4th meeting of partner countries in Kavalla, Greece
1BSBEEP 4th meeting of partner countries was held in Kavalla, Greece from July 30 to 31 in the frames of the Black Sea Basin Energy Efficiency Project development 2007-2013. Representatives of Armenia, Greece, Moldova, Romania and Turkey took part in the conference. The meeting was organized by the municipality of Kavalla. The Mayor of the city greeted the participants, who made their speeches during the conference. In two working days a number of questions about the project, especially implemented works were discussed. Having considered that the project is going to be finished soon, the participants were given requests to clarify the terms of work implementation.

The second Meeting of the countries under the Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programm 2007-2013 for the development of Energy Efficiency Plan was held in Yerevan, on December 9-10 .
The representatives of Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Greece, Romania and Turkey took part in the Meeting. The meeting was organized by Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund and American University of Armenia. Counterpart countries had discussions for two days, public discussions were held with state officials, foreign organizations, bank, and municipality officials, representing energy efficiency sector, current obstacles hindering sector’s development, challenges, financing mechanisms, perspectives.
