The Commitment Statement emphasizes compliance with the principles of the Statement and provides support the sharing of knowledge and experience to Covenant signatories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Local and regional authorities, representatives of NGOs and other organizations \u00a0are Covenant signatories, that are committed to \u00a0support \u201cCovenant of Mayors\u201d in their countries and assist the signatory cities in \u00a0the development, implementation and monitoring \u00a0of sustainable energy and climate change mitigation initiatives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund is the first in the region to join the \u201cCovenant of Mayors\u201d initiative as an energy sector structure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, there are eleven \u201cCovenant of Mayors\u201d signatories \u00a0in six Eastern Partnership countries, including three from Armenia.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Director of Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund Karen Asatryan signed a Commitment Statement to join the &#8220;Covenant of Mayors in Armenia&#8221; funded by the European Union.
